ANTI DEATH PENALTY WORKERS

Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (FADP)

A statewide organization, death row exonerees, murder victims’ families, and concerned citizens working to end executions in Florida. FADP's network includes murder victims’ family members and other survivors of violent crime, law enforcement professionals, families of the incarcerated, and death row exonerees. One useful resource FADP provides is the Florida Innocence List, detailing 30 people sentenced to death and then acquitted, pardoned on evidence of innocence, or having their case dismissed.

Innocence Project of Florida

Helps free innocent people from Florida prisons using DNA and other evidence. Many of their cases expose deep flaws in the death penalty system.

Death Penalty Action

Founded in 1961, is the world's largest grassroots human rights organizations. AIUSA addresses many human rights issues, including capital punishment, in the US and globally. A Jewish faith-based group opposing executions, especially in Florida, where several of its leaders focus on spiritual and public witness against capital punishment. L'Chaim! Jews Against the Death Penalty is a group of those who identify as Jewish or with the Jewish abolitionist cause to end the death penalty in the United States (federally and in all death-penalty states) and throughout the world. Activities include organizing daily calls to governors of states, including Florida, where the death penalty persists.

A national Catholic organization working with Florida parishes and dioceses to end the death penalty and promote restorative justice. First Friday Prayer Vigils provide monthly "sacred space to lament upcoming executions and bear witness to the sanctity of all human life.... guided prayer, petitions, Scripture reflections, and contemplative silence.
